The CUET exam will take place from May 15 to May 31, 2024. We will cover all the important topics for CUET 2024 in this article. The NTA has reduced the number of subjects choice for CUET 2024 from 10 to 6 and increased the number of CUET domain subjects to 29 in order to facilitate the exam and evaluation process.

CUET: What is it?

The nationwide exam for entrance to Central, Deemed, and Private Universities is called the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). There is only one exam, CUET 2024, for all programmes offered in Indian universities. All graduate programmes in the humanities, sciences, commerce, and even engineering are covered by CUET.

The National Testing Agency, or NTA, administers the CUET exam. NTA administered the first CUET exam in 2022. The Common Entrance Exam (CUET) is a standardised test that provides equal opportunities to candidates with varying educational backgrounds. More than 250 universities took the exam in 2023 to be considered for admission to different courses, and more than 500 universities—including prestigious institutions like Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)—are expected to take the exam in 2024.

In line with the goal of "One Nation, One Entrance Exam," CUET will eventually be required for practically all graduate programmes in India. All students who complete their +2 will need to take the CUET in order to be admitted to any university, regardless of their field of study. This test may eventually serve as a prerequisite for tests like the JEE and NEET, making it a necessary step towards passing highly esteemed assessments.

A methodical approach is necessary to prepare for the Chemistry portion of the Central Universities Entrance Test (CUET). Here are a few thorough recommendations for getting ready:

  1. Recognise the syllabus: Get a comprehensive syllabus using official documents or previous test results. Learn about the subjects covered by the three branches of chemistry: physical, inorganic, and organic.
  2. Good Study Materials: Use the standard textbooks that are advised for competitive examinations such as the CUET. Popular selections include textbooks from NCERT, works by O.P. Tandon, Morrison & Boyd, and reference books like Atkins & de Paula for Physical Chemistry, Solomons & Fryhle for Organic Chemistry, and J.D. Lee for Inorganic Chemistry.
  3. Use Visual Aids: To help you understand difficult topics like chemical structures, reaction mechanisms, and periodic trends, make use of diagrams, charts, and tables. Better understanding and memory can be facilitated by visual assistance.
  4. Revise Methodically: Arrange frequent review sessions to strengthen your knowledge and guarantee improved memory of the material. For revision assistance, employ strategies such as concept maps, mnemonic devices, and flashcards.
  5. Study in groups: Arrange study sessions with classmates so that you can clarify and debate topics with one another. You can strengthen your own comprehension of the subject matter by instructing others.
