Tests of the SAT

Pre-Test Exam centers have doors that close at 8:00 am and open at 7:45 am. On your entrance ticket, you can find the location and arrival time of the testing facility.

The identification you present must be a current, valid photo ID from the government or your current educational institution. It needs to have an up-to-date, easily identifiable photo that matches both your registration photo and how you looked on test day.

On arrival at the testing facility, you should also be prepared to respond to inquiries concerning your health. On the day of your exam, it is recommended that you stay at home if you are feeling under the weather. There won't be any fees or penalties if you miss the test due to illness. If you are traveling to the test site, you are responsible for being aware of and following any quarantine laws or travel restrictions in the area.

While the Test Was Being Conducted

The proctor will start the exam between 8:30 and 9:00, marking when each portion should be completed. You cannot go back to a part once it has concluded, which is crucial to know. You are not allowed to go on to the next segment early if you finish early.

The proctor is available to answer questions from you regarding the process, but they are not allowed to address contents or exam questions. Prior to the exam, they will study all instructions straight from the SAT handbook.

A 10-minute break and a 5-minute break are usually included in the exam schedule. You may only consume food or liquids during these designated periods of the exam.

Answer sheets, calculators, and test books have to remain on your desk during breaks. Your scores could be revoked if you break the regulation that says you can't access or charge your phones or other gadgets.

Following the Exam

Upon completion of the test, the proctor will collect and count the test booklets to make sure all necessary materials have been turned in before allowing you to exit the testing room.

Regarding the Digital SAT

The SAT uses a specialized digital testing program called Bluebook to deliver the test. A fast exam setup should be completed one to five days before the test, and Bluebook needs to be downloaded to your device. Before your exam is downloaded and your entry ticket is generated, the software will confirm that your device meets all requirements.

Once you take a seat, the Bluebook app will guide you through connecting your device to the center's Wi-Fi. Only inquiries about the procedure may be asked of the proctor; discussion of the test's content or questions is prohibited.

The proctor is going to give you a start code. Bluebook will begin timing your test as soon as the start code is entered, and it will continue to do so.

Answers you enter throughout the test are automatically submitted after it is finished, and they are saved on your device.
