For admission to undergraduate engineering courses (BE) at its three campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani administers the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT). Candidates who pass the admission exam are awarded admission to the BE, BPharm, and MSc programs every year. Approximately three lakh people enroll for the online admission exam each year. However, board toppers who fulfill the necessary eligibility requirements can also be admitted directly by the authorities.

BITSAT was generally moderate to difficult last year. NCERT and mixed-concept questions were more prevalent.
