The system of advanced placement grading
Unlike traditional assessments, which require students to complete homework, classwork, and quizzes to obtain a letter grade at the end, the examinations do not evaluate the student's comprehension of the course material. The Chief Reader, a college or university faculty member chosen by the College Board and ETS, then convenes with ETS staff to determine the AP Grade cutoff scores. Only the ETS has access to a student's raw AP Exam score. A single exam's final results are only released to the public in the extremely unusual event that the exam's entirety is made available. For instance, a five (3) on a scale of 1 to 5 is generally correlated with a score of 70 to 75 percent out of 100. Nonetheless, this law does not apply to all tests.
The AP results are typically released in July to high schools, colleges, and other higher education establishments. A five-point rating system is used to create them.
