What personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy explains, in plain terms, what personal data Masterclass Space collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers this website and the admissions consulting and test preparation services we provide through it.
Masterclass Space is an admissions consulting and test preparation practice. We operate as Masterclass Space LLP, registered in India in April 2019, and Masterclass Space Pte. Ltd., registered in Singapore in October 2022 (together “Masterclass Space”, “we”, “us”, “our”). We advise students on university admissions and prepare them for admissions and entrance examinations, including the SAT, BITSAT, AP, UCAT, ISAT, ESAT, TMUA, TARA and LNAT. We teach online, and our students are in more than 25 countries.
Registered offices: [TO BE CONFIRMED: registered address and registration number of each entity].
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website, enquire about our services, become a student or the parent of a student, subscribe to our updates or apply for a job with us – and what we do with it.
Which company is responsible for your data: [TO BE CONFIRMED: whether the Indian LLP or the Singapore company is the controller, and on what basis students are allocated between them].
When you enquire or book a free consultation. Our enquiry and contact forms collect your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the country or city you are in, the student’s school year, the countries or universities you are aiming at, the examination you are interested in, and anything else you choose to write in the message.
When you become a student, or a parent of one. In addition to the above: academic records and transcripts, predicted and actual grades, test scores and score reports, school and teacher details, extracurricular and activity history, essay drafts and application material, university and course choices, session scheduling and attendance, and our correspondence with you.
When you pay us. Billing name, billing address and the details needed to take and reconcile a payment. [TO BE CONFIRMED: which payment processors are used, and whether any card or bank details are stored by us rather than by the processor].
When you download a guide or subscribe. Your name and email address.
When you apply for a job. Our careers form takes your name and contact details and a CV upload, so it also collects whatever your CV contains – employment and education history, qualifications, and anything else you include.
When you attend an online class or consultation. Joining details, the audio, video and chat of the session, and a recording where we have told you the session is being recorded. [TO BE CONFIRMED: whether classes and consultations are recorded, who can see a recording, and how long it is kept].
When you simply use the website. Your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit, the page that referred you, and the dates and times – collected through server logs and cookies.
When you message us. The content of your emails, WhatsApp messages, calls and letters, and our replies.
We do not ask for sensitive information such as health, religion or caste, and we ask you not to send it unless an application genuinely requires it – for example a documented accommodation for a test. [TO BE CONFIRMED: how any such sensitive information should be collected and stored].
Most of it comes from you directly. We also receive personal data:
If you give us someone else’s personal data, please make sure you are entitled to do so and that they know.
To provide what you asked for, or to get ready to. Replying to enquiries, arranging consultations, delivering teaching and consulting, building an application plan, reviewing essays, scheduling sessions, invoicing and taking payment, and giving support.
Because you consented. Sending you marketing emails and newsletters, setting non-essential cookies, and publishing a testimonial or a result with the student’s name. You can withdraw consent at any time; that does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.
Because we have a legitimate interest in running the practice well. Improving our courses and this website, understanding which pages and campaigns work, keeping proper records, preventing misuse and fraud, keeping our systems secure, handling complaints, and recruiting staff.
Because the law requires it. Tax and accounting records, and responding to a lawful request from an authority or a court.
To protect someone. Where it is necessary to protect the safety of a student or another person.
Where a particular legal basis is not recognised where you live, we rely on the closest equivalent available under your local law.
Some cookies are needed for the website to work at all – serving pages, remembering a form you are part-way through, keeping the site secure. Others help us see how the site is used so we can improve it.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site may then stop working properly.
[TO BE CONFIRMED: the full list of cookies and third-party tags in use – analytics, advertising pixels, chat and scheduling widgets – and whether a cookie consent banner is required for visitors in the EU, the UK and the other markets served].
We do not sell personal data, and we do not pass your contact details to anyone else for their own marketing. We do share it, where it is needed, with:
We may publish aggregated figures – admission counts, score averages, country numbers – but only in a form that does not identify anyone.
We work from India and Singapore and teach students in more than 25 countries, and some of our service providers store data elsewhere again. Your personal data may therefore be processed outside the country you live in, under laws that differ from your own.
Wherever it goes, we expect it to be protected to a standard consistent with this policy. [TO BE CONFIRMED: the transfer mechanism relied on for students in the EU and the UK – standard contractual clauses or equivalent].
We keep personal data for as long as we have a reason to, and then delete it or strip it of anything identifying. The periods still need to be set:
Where something cannot be fully deleted for technical reasons – a backup, for instance – we isolate it and stop using it.
Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask us to:
These rights apply to data we actually hold, and they are not absolute – for example, we may have to keep records to meet a legal obligation or to defend a claim, and we cannot release information that would expose someone else’s personal data.
To exercise any of them, contact us using the details in section 13. We may need to check who you are first. We will answer within a reasonable time, and tell you if we need longer or cannot do what you asked, and why.
You can also decide not to give us your personal data – but if it is data we need in order to teach or advise, we may not be able to provide the service.
Much of our work is with school-age students, so we expect a parent or legal guardian to be involved in the enquiry and in the engagement, and to give consent where consent is what we are relying on.
We do not knowingly collect a child’s personal data without that involvement. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
[TO BE CONFIRMED: the minimum age at which a student may deal with us directly, which differs by country – and whether parental consent is recorded in writing].
We use access controls and limit who can see student files, place confidentiality obligations on our staff and contractors, use reputable providers for hosting, email and storage, and use encrypted connections where they are available.
No website or system is completely secure, though, so please protect your own devices and passwords and be careful about what you send through a web form.
We send service messages – appointment confirmations, reminders, documents, answers to your questions – by email, WhatsApp or SMS, using the contact details you gave us.
We send marketing emails only to people who asked for them or who are working with us, and every one of them has an unsubscribe link. Tell us to stop, in any channel, and we will.
[TO BE CONFIRMED: whether promotional WhatsApp or SMS messages are sent, the opt-out keyword, and message frequency].
For anything about your personal data – a question, a request, or a complaint about how we have handled it – please get in touch:
Data protection contact: [TO BE CONFIRMED: email address, postal address, and the name or role of the person responsible for data protection].
If you would rather use a form, the enquiry form in our contact section reaches us too. Please tell us which country you live in, so we can apply the right rules to your request.
We will update this policy as our practice, the tools we use and the law change. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed, and the current version is always the one published here. Where a change is significant, or where the law says we must, we will tell you about it before it takes effect.
Our Terms of Use set out the rules for using this website. They and this policy should be read together.
Masterclass Space is not sponsored by, affiliated with, or associated with any university, college, or education(al) institution mentioned on this website. See also our Terms of Use.
