Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA)
Most people refer to the Analytical Writing Assessment as the "essay" component. A candidate's writing abilities are evaluated. Only one essay has been written in this section. This is the sole section of the exam that does not use multiple-choice questions. Both a human and a computer grading system are used to mark these writings.
