BITSAT is easier in terms of concepts as it stays close to the NCERT syllabus. However, it is harder in terms of speed as you have to answer questions in less time. If you have prepared well for JEE Mains, you will find the concepts in BITSAT to be familiar. You will still need to work on your speed and accuracy.
Yes, you can. In fact, that is the way. The syllabus for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is the same for both exams. So if you prepare for JEE Mains, it will cover most of the BITSAT syllabus. BITSAT syllabus is 85-90% same as JEE Mains. Then you just need to study English and Logical Reasoning topics. You can study these topics for about 3-4 weeks before the BITSAT exam.
2026 exam dates are:
Session 1: April 15-16 2026
Session 2: May 24-26 2026
You can give one or both sessions. They will use your score for admission.
Both exams serve purposes. JEE Mains is the gateway to IITs, NITs, and other top government-funded colleges. BITSAT is the choice if you want to get into BITS Pilani, Goa, or Hyderabad. Most aspirants attempt both exams as they are held on the same dates.
If you finish all 130 questions before the 3-hour time limit, you will be given 12 bonus questions. These questions carry the marks as the regular questions, but you should only attempt them if you are confident, as wrong answers will deduct marks.
BITSAT includes 2 additional subjects: English and Logical Reasoning. English has 10 questions of 20 marks, and Logical Reasoning has 20 questions of 40 marks.
